RE’20 Accommodation

RE’20 does not have a conference hotel. In the table below, you find a selection of hotels and apartments in various categories, from five star to one star. The table is sortable according to your favorite criteria.

In some hotels, we hold a room block for RE’20 with special rates (which, however, are similar to the lowest rates found on booking platforms). The cut-off date is July 30, 2020. If you want to book a room from a room block online, follow this link. When calling or e-mailing a hotel with a room block, mention “28th International Requirements Engineering Conference RE’20”.

Otherwise use your favorite booking platform or book directly in the hotel of your choice.

Prices

All quoted prices are in Swiss Francs (CHF). They typically range from a non-refundable rate for a standard room without breakfast to a refundable rate for a superior room with breakfast. Junior suites and suites are not included in the quoted price range.

The quoted prices have been determined in February 2020 for a stay during the whole conference week (Sunday Aug 30 to Saturday Sep 5). Prices may increase when booking late or staying for a few days only.

Prices depend on the number of persons occupying a room.

Taxes

3.7 % VAT and the city tax of CHF 2.50 per person per night are included in the quoted prices. There are no other taxes or surcharges for hotel rooms in Zurich.

When comparing prices on different booking platforms, double-check whether or not the quoted price includes VAT and city tax.

Note that the prices quoted on the Zurich tourism booking platform include VAT, but do not include the city tax.

Getting from your hotel to the conference venue

We recommend to travel by public transport from your hotel to the conference venue and back. The approximate travel time from hotel to venue is indicated in the table above. Trams run every 7-8 minutes during daytime and every 15-20 minutes in the evening until midnight.

Participants who register for the main conference will receive a free public transport ticket which is valid from Mon Aug 31 to Fri Sep 4 for all trams, buses and trains within the city limit (fare zone 110). Note that Zurich Airport lies outside of that fare zone. You can download a map with all tram and bus lines in fare zone 110.

Choosing a hotel at the airport or in the neighborhood of Zurich is not recommended due to the travel cost when using public transport outside of the city limits of Zurich.

For Students

If you are looking for budget accommodation, try to team up with other students and check for hotels offering rooms with three or four beds or apartments with more than one bedroom.
